SAMPOORNA GRAMEEN
ROZGAR YOJANA (S.G.R.Y.)
This programme has been
launched with effect from 25.09.2001 by merging Employment Assurance
Scheme (EAS) and Jawahar Gram Samrudhi Yojana (JGSY). The new programme
has an additional component of food security and thus 50% of the
earmarked allocation will be released in the form of food grains. As per
the provisions of the scheme, foodgrains along with the requisite funds
will be provided to the State as per existing criteria of allocation to
EAS and JGSY. Under the scheme, 5 kg. Of food grains has to be
distributed as part of wages per manday. The remaining wages has to be
paid in cash as per notified minimum wages every week. |
