Modern Living
Crochet

From Paola Lenti's Aqua collection come these bold textiles for use as rugs or wall-hung tapestries. Working with Lenti's signature rope yarn, designers Patricia Urquiola and Eliana Gerotto fashioned the flowers and leaves for their Crochet designs and affixed them to a low-profile backing. 8775 Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90048; 310-657-8775; modernliving.com.

American Marazzi Tile
Jade ceramic tiles

Smooth like a gemstone, Jade ceramic tiles possess the striking veins and coloration of Oriental slate. The 13- and 20-inch squares come in four natural colors—sage, ochre, chestnut, and taupe. They are easily cleaned and are just as appropriate on walls as they are underfoot. 359 Clay Road, Sunnyvale, TX 75182; 972-226-0110; marazzitile.com.

Tarkett Commercial
ID Moduline

Metallic tones add spark to these traditional wood-look floor planks for high-traffic areas or low-key traditional spaces. Optional faux-stone components present yet another facet of the ID Moduline collection. An emphasis on modularity unlocks virtually unlimited mixing and matching possibilities for lively installations. 2728 Summer Street, Houston, TX 77007; 800-877-8453; tarkett-commercial.com.

ASHA Carpets
Big Cotton Balls rug

The hand-knotted Big Cotton Balls rug by designer Joanna Michalowicz is, despite its name, a high-relief rug with silk highlights. The orange one, which is made in China for the company's Elements collection, combines wool and silk—though a neutral-colored version includes some linen yarn. 94-98 Nassau Avenue, Suite 360, Brooklyn, NY 11222; 914-645-1262; ashacarpets.com.

Bentley Prince Street
Blaze and Blinding Light

Here are two boldly named Antron Nylon products from this California manufacturer: Blaze is a small-scale rectangular grid, and Blinding Light is that same grid interrupted by a larger, window-pane pattern. Both are tufted tip-shears in 21 colors; they are designed for traditional corporate or sophisticated hospitality settings. 14641 East Don Julian Road, Industry, CA 91746; 800-423-4709; bentleyprincestreet.com.

Zoë Luyendijk Studio
Baar Carnival

This Canadian designer's ur na 2 collection seems to pose the question "What does nature look like when no one is watching?" Her revelatory Baar Carnival carpet blends refined silk and lush Tibetan wool, hand-knotted by skilled Tibetan artisans in Nepal. 9161 Avalon Avenue, Burnaby, British Columbia V3N 4G7, Canada; 604-524-8383; zoeluyendijk.com.

Patterson, Flynn & Martin
Amalgam collection

This division of F. Schumacher & Co. introduces the Amalgam collection of Tibetan area rugs. The 15 designs are woven by hand in the finest wool yarns and are accented with silk to create a soft and luxurious pile with subtle gradations of color. 979 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10022; 800-833-0667; pfmcarpet.com.

Pawson Perfect
Christopher Farr rug collection

Whether it's Calvin Klein's New York flagship, a residence in London or Tokyo, or a Cistercian monastery in the Czech Republic, John Pawson's architecture embodies restraint, sophistication, and innovation. The Interior Design Hall of Fame member brings precisely those qualities to his first Christopher Farr rug collection.

His six patterns come from three-dimensional wire-frame AutoCAD drawings of curved lattice screens. He then compressed the computer images to form random-seeming two-dimensional patterns that entertain the eye as it seeks an elusive repeat. Rendered by hand in Swiss chrome-dyed wool-mohair, the two-shade flat-weaves are made in central Turkey, according to a 500-year-old tradition, always in dimensions of 61/2 by 10 feet. Ralph Pucci International, 44 West 18th Street, New York, NY 10011; 212-633-0452; ralphpucci.com.

Asha
Nantucket I

With Nantucket I, proprietor Joanna Michalowicz wanted to evoke "the wind-swept sea, snapping sails, and smooth sand" of Cape Cod. The wool flat-weave can be transformed with custom colors. It sells in virtually any size. 94-98 Nassau Avenue, Suite 360, Brooklyn, NY 11222, 914-645-1262; ashacarpets.com.

Delinear
Vapor

Vapor is a highlight from this West Coast studio's Mist collection. Like a hazy, languorous L.A. sunset, Chris Baisa's design in pure Himalayan wool in vermilion and aubergine is moodily expressive. Custom sizes and colors can be commissioned. 536 14th Street, Suite 4, San Francisco, CA 94103; 800-282-8961; delinear.com.

Endless Knot
Amdo

Using pure hand-spun wool, weavers in Katmandu, Nepal, spend an average of three months on rugs like Amdo, a patchwork of jewel-toned stripes. The same design can be custom-colored and expanded up to 24 by 32 feet. 364 Blodgett Street, Cotati, CA 94931; 800-910-3000; endlessknotrugs.com.

Joan Weissman
Horizon runner

Trimmed by hand and washed with herbal soap, the Tibetan-style Horizon runner takes earthy inspiration from Tibet's neighbor, India. The 16-foot green runner, which is hand-knotted wool and silk, recalls the traditional tie-dyed turban cloths of Rajasthan. 3710 Silver Southeast, Albuquerque, NM 87108; 505-265-0144; joanweissman.com.

Zoë Luyendijk
Joint Heat

This designer loves the city, she says, except when "she can't stand it." Joint Heat, part of her City Collection, is a knowing riff on urban grit and contradictions. Tibetan artisans use wool blended with refined silk to knot the carpets in Nepal. 9161 Avalon Avenue, Burnaby, British Columbia V3N 4G7, Canada; 604-524-8383; zoeluyendijk.com.

Emma Gardner
Bamboo Blossoms

This growing studio's verdant Bamboo Blossoms handmade carpet is 100 knots per inch. The interlaced tropical motif of flowers and leaves is olive, rust, or Nile-blue Chinese silk planted on a background of luxurious pure Tibetan wool pile in cream. P.O. Box 1807, Litchfield, CT 06759; 860-567-5201; emmagardnerdesign.com.

Karastan
Vittorio Collection

The Vittorio Collection's damask designs blend silky viscose yarns with New Zealand wool for rich rugs in champagne, regal red, or mahogany brown. The rugs feature an overall tone-on-tone pattern subtly framed within a rectangular border that reverses the colors. 335 Summit Road, Eden, NC 27288; 800-848-2020; karastan.com.

Fort Street Studio
Walton carpet

The Walton carpet from the New Traditionals collection modernizes classic Oriental patterning. The melon color shines on a background of warm gray; both tones are rendered in hand-knotted Dandong silk dyed in small lots using colorfast European dyes. 578 Broadway, Suite 506, New York, NY 10012; 212-925-5383; fortstreetstudio.com.

Stark
